Chris Jones Jr. is a Tampa Bay–based artist whose work is distinguished by tactile surfaces, saturated color, and a layered visual language. His broader practice engages questions of identity, self-definition, memory, resilience, and the Black experience, often using symbolism and bold graphic imagery to connect the personal with larger cultural narratives.
In this work, vivid bands of color, patterned fabric, and symbolic details converge in a striking figurative composition. The combination of acrylic and fabric gives the piece a dimensional, almost sculptural presence, while the obscured facial features invite questions of identity, visibility, and representation.
